Day 1 : Madrid - Oviedo - Vilalba The trip will begin in Madrid, where we will board a flight to Asturias and the city of Oviedo . The group will be transferred by bus to a restaurant located in the small and beautiful On arrival at the restaurant we will be welcomed with a typical lunch of fish in cider. Once we finish lunch and we are enjoying our coffee, we will be briefed on the basics of Convoy driving, the use of the 2 way radios, and we will be issued our 4x4’s. Departure towards Villalba(Lugo) through small towns and forest roads. Arrival at the Parador Nacional de Vilalba towards early evening. There is no need to worry about your luggage as it will have been taken care of by our team and it will be awaiting you at the hotel. At 21:30 we will be dinning in a private dinning room where we will have the chance to taste some Cantabrian specialities. Once Dinner is over, we recommend an early night. Day 2 : Vilalba – Fuentes del Río Miño – Vilalba. Once breakfast is finished, we will depart in our 4x4’s towards the source of the Miño River, using only back roads that will take us to a Cazoleiro rural house in Meira close to the source of the river. At the Cazoleiro House we will enjoy an informal lunch tasting the typical Galician Cocido. Alter lunch we will continue towards the river and it’s source. We will have the chance to rest a while at the river before heading back to the Hotel in Vilalba using back roads. We will arrive at the hotel towards dusk. Dinner will be at the Vilalba Parador where we will have the opportunity of tasting the local cuisine.
Once breakfast is finished, we will depart in our 4x4’s using only back roads to cross the Galician terrain until we reach another rural house the ‘O Castiñeiro where we will enjoy our lunch. Once we have concluded our meal we will continue our trip until we reach The Plaza del Obradoiro en Santiago de Compostela.
We will be given our room keys at the famous Parador de los Reyes Catolicos (Parador of the Catholic Kings) where we will enjoy a welcome cocktail. There is no need to worry about your baggage as it will have been taken care of by our porters and will be waiting for us at the hotel. At 21:30 we will have dinner at the Parador and have the opportunity to taste some of the local specialities. Once dinner is finished we recommend an early night. Day 4 : Santiago – Costa da Morte – Santiago. Once we finish our breakfast, we will depart in our 4x4’s towards the “Costa de la Muerte” (Coast of Death) where we will enjoy this wonderful scenery and its backroads which will take us to ‘Finisterre’ or Lands End. We will enjoy lunch at the ‘Finisterre de Laracha’ restaurant where we will be able to taste a typical Fish Caldeira, still prepared using the an age old recipe. In the evening the route will take us back to Santiago where we should arrive towards the early evening. Dinner will be a Gastronomic tasting in the Parador. Once dinner is over. We recommend an early night. Buenas Noches. Day 5 : – Santiago de Compostela – End of the Trip. Once we finish our breakfast, we will meet our guide and make our way to the historical centre in the city of Santiago. When midday mass is over we will to make our way to the Catedral to enjoy the old tradition of the Botafumeiro When the visit is over, we will be taken by bus to the famous restaurant O’Rodicio, which belongs to the Old Club Gastrónomico of the Rias Altas, where we’ll enjoy a private Sea Food lunch. Alter the lunch we will make our way to the Santiago de Compostela airport where we will match our programmed flights back home. END OF THE TRIP
