 RICE TOUR WITH TASTING AND COOKING LESSON The province of Verona extends southward from the city to the Padana Plain, a vast panorama of lowlands dominated by the cultivation of cereals and rice, and interrupted only by he solemn flow of the Adige River and tributaries of the Po. The lowlands, or Bassa, have a melancholy charm that recall man’s relationship to the land, the cyclical nature of the seasons, and the vibrant colours of autumn, dimmed only by the first fog. In the heart of the Rice Vialone Nano Veronese, in Isola della Scala, the guide will explain the risorgives and their importance for the cultivation of the rice in the past and with the modern technologies. At the end of the visit the Pila Vecia is reached,where Ferron family has produced rice since 1650. At the end of the visit it’ll take place a rice based tasting, from the appetizer to the dessert. For the impassioned rice lovers there is also the possibility to book cooking lessons with professionals Chef that will introduce them to the typical recipes of the territory. The best period to pay a visit is from April to the first week of October. The duration of the visit is about 2 hours with the tasting, with the cooking lesson it’ll take at least 3 hours.
VALPOLICELLA WINE AND ITS ARTISTIC HERITAGE Pick up in hotel with guide and transfer to a marvellous Villa/cellar: a monumental complex positioned in the middle of a green valley surrounded by wooded slopes and marvellous vineyards. The itinerary starts from the XVIIIth century villa surrounded by 220ha vineyards, with its frescoed hall and rooms which are the proof of its ancient past. Then the tour continues with a walking promenade in the park, along th beautiful pond, to reach the old cellar. Here you will see the room where the grapes are withered to produce Amarone's wine, a little wine museum, the large cellars with its old barrels and the distillery. At the end of the tour there will be a tasting of wine with a little gastronomic buffet. After the visit lunch in a good agritourism. In the afternoon, transfer to San Floriano and San Giorgio Ingannapoltron the most beautiful romanic churches of the region. Then visit to luxuriant gardens: they represent the last masterpiece of Italian gardens, known for its green amphitheatre and its spectacular perspectives. The surface is of 54000 sqm (13.3 acres): temple, theatre, walls, galleries and belvedere have been built transforming and bending trees, hedges and water into a phantasmagorical show machine. Dinner in a good restaurant on the way to Verona or back to hotel.
PROSECCO WINE North of Venice lies the wine region of Prosecco DOC di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. This is the land of Palladian villas and gentle rolling hills covered in vines and noble manors. The darling village of Conegliano is full of 15th to 18th century palaces, many of them with Venetian Gothic façades. Vineyards surround the town, mainly of Prosecco grape, used to make the famed Italian bubbly. We have organized this luxury wine tasting excursion for those of you visiting Venice who would love a pampering wine experience. After a morning of wine tasting, you´ll enjoy lunch in a delightful spot with your guide. Specialties of this regions include polenta, chiodino mushrooms, risottos flavored with wild herbs, delicate ‘tortelli’ and a range of cheeses like Morlacco, Casatella, Caciotta and Pressato. Finally, before returning to Venice, enjoy an excursion to Treviso, a wonderful little town. Treviso has ancient canals, palaces with flower-lined balconies and cute cafés.
